Below is a first-person account by G.A.P. co-founder, Matt Vecere: My direct experience is within Camp Petionville, an IDP (internally displaced persons) camp of more than 50,000 people. The camp sits on a steep hillside. Danger from Mother Nature is in the form of communicable disease, such as tuberculosis, pertussis and diphtheria, while torrential downpour causes mudslides and moving debris.
