Nancy R. Sobel, PsyD

Dr. Nancy R. Sobel is a licensed psychologist in private practice in West Los Angeles, CA. She works with individuals, couples, families, groups and rock bands. She also regularly conducts workshops on healthy relationships at the Miraval resort in Tuscon, Arizona and in Los Angeles using equine therapy and Mindful Surfing.

Dr. Sobel is widely known for her work in the entertainment industry and has developed a unique style of therapy for musicians and artists who spend large amounts of time on the road. She designed the clinical portion of MusiCares, a charity for impaired musicians funded in association with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

In addition to treating people with standard mental health issues, Dr. Sobel specializes in the treatment of trauma and addictions including chemical, sexual and financial dependencies. While watching the coverage of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, she was moved to go and help. While there, she encountered teens who had lost their parents and together with some other volunteers at the Petionville displaced persons camp, money was collected and Global Adolescent Project was born

Dr. Sobel has worked in the addiction field for over twenty years and has consulted in the development of treatment programs in the United States and abroad. She is very involved in community service serving on several boards and as co-founder of Global Adolescent Project along with Matt Vecere.

Dr. Sobel has been a guest expert on numerous television and radio programs including The Oprah Winfrey Show, E True Biography, and KCRW’s Which Way L.A.
